Module 2, Lesson 4:
Content that Shines
GAMMA 1O1

Okay, let's talk about the actual content you're putting into your gamma. Text, images, videos, embeds—all the stuff that makes your deck more than just bullet points.
Ways to Add Content
Again, the simplest way to add content is just... type. Click into a card and start typing. You'll see a formatting toolbar pop up with all the basics—bold, italic, font size, alignment, links.
But there are faster ways to add specific types of content.
The Insert Menu
If you prefer clicking, the Insert menu has everything organized by type. Images, media, charts, team photos, social content—it's all here.
You can drag and drop these directly into your gamma. It's visual, which some people prefer over the slash command.
The Slash Command Menu
When you type a forward slash, this menu appears. It's basically a shortcut to every type of content block you can add—images, videos, GIFs, code blocks, charts, embeds, you name it. If it exists in the Insert menu, you can also find it as a slash command.
Let's say I want to add a quick stat callout. I'll type /callout and boom—instant callout box.
Or maybe I want to embed a YouTube video. I'll type /video, paste the URL, and it's embedded right in the card.
Rich Media Options
(to add Gamma-branded images/gif)
GIFs
Type /gif, search for what you want, add it
Videos
Embed from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom—just paste the URL
Charts
Create simple bar charts, line graphs, pie charts right in Gamma
Code Blocks
If you're documenting something technical, code blocks keep it formatted
Math Formulas
Need an equation? Gamma supports KaTeX
The slash command is way faster than hunting through menus. Once you get used to it, you'll fly through content creation.
AI-Generated Images
If you need a custom image, you can have AI create one for you. Let's add an image to this "Why BrewBox" card. I'll describe what I want:
"A cozy coffee shop interior with specialty coffee equipment."
Not bad! Is it perfect? Maybe not. But it's a solid placeholder, and I can always refine the prompt or swap it out later.
Editing AI-Generated Images
Here's something cool: if you don't love the AI image, you can edit it.
I can change the background, add text, adjust colors—all without leaving Gamma.
This is especially useful if the image is almost right but needs a small tweak.
You can also animate any image using AI. See this animate option? You can turn your static image into a subtle animation. It's a nice touch if you want to add a little movement to your presentation without going full video. It's subtle, but it makes the whole card feel more alive.
Interactive Elements
Toggles and nested cards let you hide content until someone clicks to reveal it. This is great for FAQs, detailed explanations, or anything where you want to keep the card clean but still provide depth.
See? The card stays short and scannable, but the info is there if someone wants to dig deeper.
Blockquotes and Emphasis
If you want to make a quote or key point stand out, use blockquotes.
Or use the Emphasize feature to make a specific section pop visually.
Links — Do It Right
One quick thing about links. Don't do this:
Type: "Click here to learn more"
Embed links in relevant text instead:
Type: "Learn more about our subscription plans"
It's cleaner, more professional, and better for accessibility.
📌 Your Turn:

Add some content to your gamma:
  • Use the slash command to add a few different content types—images, videos, callouts, whatever fits
  • Try creating an AI-generated image with a specific prompt
  • Add a toggle or nested card to hide some detailed content
  • Format some text with blockquotes or emphasis
Make your gamma feel complete. Not just text—make it visual and engaging.
Alright, your gamma is looking good. It's got structure, it's got content, it's got visuals. You could honestly share this right now and it would look professional. But in the next section, we're going to take it all the way. We'll talk about presenting like a pro, collaborating with teammates, and getting your gamma out into the world. Let's finish strong.
Share your ideas faster and more beautifully with AI.
