Lesson 4:
Staying on Brand with Themes
SELLING WITH GAMMA
Loading...
Let’s imagine you’ve built a proposal using one of Gamma’s standard themes. Maybe it’s clean and minimal, and while it looks good, it still doesn’t feel like your brand. This is where themes become handy. With one click, you can switch themes and watch your entire deck transform.
Click the Theme button in the toolbar, browse through the standard options, and pick one that feels closer to your style.
Just like that, every card, color, and font updates instantly. No reformatting. No layout issues. Your content stays exactly the same, but the visual identity changes entirely. That’s why themes matter. Your proposals never feel generic or reused because the visual layer adapts to your brand, even when the structure stays consistent.
How to create your own custom theme
You’re not limited to the standard themes. You can build a custom theme that reflects your exact brand identity. Start by choosing the standard theme that’s closest to your style. Maybe it’s minimal, bold, warm, or corporate. Whatever feels like you.
Then click Copy and customize this theme. This opens the theme builder, where you define your brand.
Step 1: Upload your brand colors
If you have a brand guide, paste in your hex codes. If not, use the colors from your website, email footer, or social graphics.
Gamma will apply those colors as accents, headers, and backgrounds throughout your deck.
Step 2: Choose your fonts
If you’re on a free plan, you can pick from Gamma’s font library.
If you’re on Pro, you can upload your own custom fonts so your proposals match the exact typeface your team uses everywhere else.
Step 3: Upload your logo
Click Upload logo and add your company logo.
Free users will see it in the editor and document view. Pro users can place it in headers and footers so every page of your proposal is subtly branded.
Step 4: Customize your image styles
This is one of Gamma’s most underrated features. You can define the style of any AI-generated images by setting custom prompts.
Maybe you want warm and hand-drawn visuals or a clean, minimalist look. Set your preferred style here and Gamma applies it across the deck.
How to save and apply your custom theme
Once you’re happy with everything, give your custom theme a name and save it. It will now appear in the Custom themes tab, ready to apply to any Gamma you create.
From there, you can set it as your workspace default.
Go to Workspace settings or open the three-dot menu next to the theme name, and select Set as workspace default. Now every new Gamma you create starts with your brand already applied.
If you’d like, I can create a version of this chapter that’s even shorter, punchier, or more narrative to match a specific tone.
